About the studio
A reading space for self awareness.
We are a small practice built on a simple idea. You do not need to escape your life to understand it. You need a few quiet moments inside it, set down with care.
Why we exist
Mindfulness without the mysticism
Most people believe they know themselves far better than they actually do. The research is humbling on this point. We started The Tessera Practice because the science of attention is genuinely useful, and almost none of it requires a mountaintop.
Our work is grounded in the same foundations as modern clinical mindfulness, from affect labeling to brief body scans. We translate it into practices that survive contact with a full calendar, a loud commute, and a tired evening.
The people
A small team, by design
Three practitioners who would rather know a few members well than process a crowd.
A clinical mindfulness practitioner who spent a decade in behavioural health before building a studio around small, repeatable moments of attention.
Former editor turned facilitator. Desmond runs the journal circle and believes the page is the quietest mirror we own.
Keeps every practice grounded in evidence and reachable for everyone, from screen reader users to people who simply cannot sit still for an hour.
